Jaker's Pumkin Patch

We brought them home and washed them off before putting them on the front porch.

If you look at Jordan's hair, you might be able to tell how windy it was!!!

So we finally made it to the pumkin patch on the most windy and cold day of the week. I promised them last Monday we could go and pick out our pumkins after school. However, they both came home from school fighting. They wouldn't stop and so they both were told we were not going to the pumkin patch and to go to their rooms for 10 minutes. (Our new rule. Since they have found great fun in fighting with one another, the rule is: on the first offense, 10 minutes in your rooms. Second offense, 20 minutes, then 40 minutes you get the picture. Luckily, it has been working and they have only spent 20 minutes in their rooms) So, the 10 minutes are up and Lexi comes out of her room and says, "So now can we go to the pumkin patch?" I told her no, because they were fighting and lost the privledge to go today, maybe tomorrow. She then said, "But mom, you always lie and tell us no, and then let us do stuff anyway!" That was it, Monday was actually a better day for me to go, and the weather was great, but after that comment, I was setting my ground. We would go Tuesday if they were good. This was followed by thrashing, screaming, and whailing!!! So, Tuesday after school, they were both good and remembered where we were going. Unfortunately, the wind was terrible. Oh well, we got the dang pumkins!!!

Ava picked her pumkin

Hogle Zoo

I was able to attend the annual first grade field trip to hogle zoo. I convinced grandma to come with me since it is sooooo much fun!! Ava loved this elephant. It would make a big sneezing noise and then spurt water out of its nose...gross!!

Riding the train is always a memorable experience.. all 45 seconds of it!!
These are the other 2 kids that were in our group to watch. Lexi looks like she is having the most fun don't you think!?

Lexi, Grandma, and Ava riding on the big rhino!!

Ava was so cute. Every animal we came to she would say WWWOOOOWWWW!! one of her three words she can say, wow, mom, and ough- owe. This happened to be at the white alligator.

Soccer

Another busy soccer season has come and gone. They both had so much fun and can't even wait until next season!! (mom can't either)

As Lexi's face shows.. she just got a goal!!!

Ava's Birthday Elmo Sprinkler

Ava was unsure at first what to think of her new little elmo sprinkler..

I think she liked it!!

Camping at Jolley's

We had one last big campout at Jolley's. The kids had a blast, of course. They love to swim in the River and slide down this really cool slide. (I'm not exactly sure what it is, though I am sure it has a real purpose outside the entertainment of my children!)

It also helps you slide faster if you sit on a garbage sack! Lexi sliding down..

The First Day of School

I can't believe they are both in school all day..good thing I have Ava at home to keep me busy. She is always going above and beyond trying to accomplish just that. I will say that I took for granted how much they played with her. She has really missed them and mommy has had to play ALOT more than I anticipated. (not that I mind at all, I love being a mom)

A closer look at the petroglifs

Capitol Reef

We found this perfect hole in a rock and decided Ava could hang out in it for a while--

A picture of the kids in and on the rock--

The whole fam including Grandma and Grandpa in and on and around the rock--

The Rock!!

Walking along side the rock looking at petroglifs.

Summer in Fishlake

One afternoon we walked to the lodge and bought all of the kids an ice cream. Ava, savoring every last minute of her chocolate creamy bar. Don't you dare try to take it away..trust me!!
Family pictures at the Lodge.

Grandma is one of the only ones who would kiss that face...

Want a Kiss!!!

No, it is not your eyes. This family picture was taken after Jordan's baptism by Grandpa! (apparently he has trouble focusing an auto focus camera-not sure how this happened, but it is our only one)

Jordan was baptized this Summer. He said it was the BEST day of his life so far!

Lexi's Birthday Party--She got everything she wanted and more. Thanks to a great family, many grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Jordan up to bat. (I'm pretty sure this hit was a home run!!)

Not that this is a great "action" shot of Lexi playing baseball, dad wanted a picture of her fabulous baseball wedges.

Not a big fan of feathers-
